A staged teleconference?
Are you kidding me? Can you say, Buffoon? This guy is a total embarassment. Three more years of this misleadership. Somebody impeach him now! The photo reminds me of Mork talking to Orson and, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

If it quacks like a duck, it must be a lame duck.

Three years is a long time in politics and maybe it's futile to speculate now. I look at both parties and see nothing that is appealing.

Republicans are defining themselves as the "culture of corruption" and the Dems are mired in "know-nothingism." Neither is desirable at this point.

The leadership of both parties is dismal. The Dems have Dean, who is still a "loose cannon" in my book and the Repubs have Mehlman who conjures up a vision of "snake oil salesman." The Republican controlled Congress is in a mess with the leadership in both houses facing conviction of crimes and the Democrats can't seem to produce an agenda of what they stand for other than being anti-Republican.

But the list of "candiates' in 2008 is the list of usual suspects. Hillary is redefining herself to become more moderate. Kerry is a loser. Edwards is a "populist" candidate with no mandate. Gore isn't interested and the General is awol from the party. I don't think anyone is a serious candidate now.

On the Republican side there is Allen, McCain, Giuliani and Frist, hardly anyone of Reagan stature (not that I personally think that is desirable, btw).

Maybe it's someone not in the limelight yet. Gov.'s Huckabee and Barbour seem interested and if you don't think the idea of President Barbour is spooky, then you don't believe in the Great Pumpkin.

It's just too soon for me. At this point in time, I'm personally ready for the era of family dynasties in America to be over. I'm not ready for Hillary, but please, no Jeb.
