Open Discussion

Red Dog will be out of town today, so no posts tonight, should be back tomorrow night with more "wits of wisdom." Use this post to bring up whatever you want. Here is one to start.

flash!!!! bill has been prefilled in the miss. legislature to mandate that all school districts in the state must consolidate. we will end up with only approx. 84 districts rather than the 150 + . aint't that smart! bill will also mandate that the school boards must be elected rather than city council apointments.

Red Dog says: The Saints have better odds of winning the Super Bowl than this bill. The bill does, however, have great merits. Does Washington County really need 4 School Districts?

I love it! Red Dog and the Local Reflector on the same Blog. It’s great to read intelligent banter again. I left your little town of Greenville a few months ago, after a number of distressing years. It is sad to say I do not miss one thing about it, (O.K. maybe a Does steak now and then.) I just got my car tag renewal and guess what instead of $450.00 to ride on pot hole filled roads in Greenville Ms. it was $36.00 and the streets here are well maintained, not a pot hole to be found! I don’t have to drive to Jackson to find a good Doctor, or Restaurant. The Police here actually solve cases, instead of as Laverne says, “Being close to solveability on the case.” So keep up the good work and keep us up to date on the happenings in Mound Greenville. And you Chamber members and City and County officials keep up the happy talk so the DDT will have something to print.

non believer-
You're killing me! I just took a short trip out of town and actually observed a city where "growth" was happening. Can you imagine driving down an interstate where three major hospitals were having serious construction activities going on?

Oh, and to drive down streets where there are Starbucks and Barnes and Noble and Krispy Kreme!! Actually where you can even drive down streets that do not have pot holes and have real turn lanes?

Can you imagine a place where there are people, maybe tourists, who are walking downtown at night? California? Iowa? Nah, it's in the Deep South and not that far from Mainstream, U.S.A.

Local Reflector,
Thanks for pointing out the same feeling I had when I read about the "perceived" crime issues in Greenville. Made me go hmmmmmmm and wonder, what the hell is he thinking? They're not perceived, just have no "solvability." I think that means the police have no clue.

The DDT is too nice to city hall, county supervisors, and the hospital board. I'm beginning to develop a "love/hate" relationship with the paper. Just when I think they are turning the corner, I get extremely disappointed by the next issue. I've been patient, but that's beginning to disappear, just like the French Fry.

The idiotic French Fry column. Geez...that (managing) editor is losing his grip on reality. Such cryptic thoughts! What was he really trying to say?

Beats me, I thought I was just too tired to comprehend when I read it. Read it again today, still don't know. Maybe it's like blogging, sometimes it's better to just take a nap.

Lush is an egomaniac. Bona Fide. The French Fry column is a personal attack on an individual and a respected civic group that he perceives as a threat to his "GHEC Project."

Ok, I read it again and it makes more sense (sorta) however, Lush loses his own slam on being efficient and to the point, IMO. Could he have just sent an e-mail?

And spared us the dig at whoever it was that we don't even know or care?
Just my opinion.
